Description
About ThreeBond TB1215
OVERVIEW:
ThreeBond TB1215 is a one-component, solvent-free RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) silicone-based liquid gasket designed for industrial sealing applications. It cures upon exposure to atmospheric moisture, forming a durable, elastic rubber seal. TB1215 is commonly used for sealing metal flanges, engine components, gearboxes, and transmission systems in automotive and machinery settings where high resistance to oil and vibration is required.
KEY FEATURES:
Solvent-Free RTV Formulation
Cures at room temperature without the release of volatile solvents, forming a stable silicone rubber seal.
Non-Corrosive to Metals
Formulated to be non-corrosive to aluminum and other sensitive metals, reducing the risk of surface degradation after application.
High Oil Resistance
Offers good resistance to engine oils and transmission fluids under normal operating conditions.
Low Odor and Low Volatility
Generates minimal odor during application and produces low levels of volatile substances, supporting safer handling.
Stable Adhesion and Elasticity
Maintains flexibility and sealing performance under vibration and thermal expansion, contributing to long-term reliability in mechanical joints.
APPLICATIONS:
-
Automotive Engines and Gearboxes – Used for sealing timing covers, oil pans, water pumps, and other components with flange surfaces.
-
Industrial Machinery – Suitable for sealing mechanical enclosures, hydraulic equipment, and general metal assemblies.
-
OEM and Maintenance Use – Frequently used in original equipment assembly and as a maintenance solution for leak prevention and reassembly tasks.
PACKAGING:
ThreeBond TB1215 is available in 250g tubes. Packaging may vary depending on distribution channel or region.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
-
Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from oil, dust, or old gasket material.
-
Application: Apply an even bead of TB1215 to one flange surface. Allow a few minutes of skin formation time before assembly.
-
Assembly and Curing: Join parts and allow curing to occur under ambient temperature and humidity. Full cure typically achieved within 24 hours, depending on joint thickness and conditions.
SAFETY AND HANDLING:
Handle in a well-ventilated area. Avoid prolonged skin contact and prevent contact with eyes. Use protective gloves during industrial application. Refer to the product’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for specific health and safety guidelines.
DISCLAIMER:
