Description
About Solvay GALDEN® HT200
OVERVIEW:
Solvay GALDEN® HT200 is a perfluoropolyether (PFPE) fluid developed for use in applications requiring excellent thermal and chemical stability. It is a member of Solvay’s HT series, formulated for heat transfer and specialized dielectric applications. With its high boiling point and low vapor pressure, HT200 is designed to function under moderately high temperatures in closed-loop or sealed systems. Its inert nature makes it suitable for use in sensitive electronic, aerospace, and semiconductor environments.
KEY FEATURES:
Thermal Stability
Performs in operating environments up to approximately +200°C, supporting consistent behavior in moderate-to-high temperature systems.
Low Vapor Pressure
Helps minimize evaporation losses under heat, contributing to reduced fluid consumption over time in sealed systems.
Chemical Inertness
Non-reactive with most metals, plastics, and elastomers under normal conditions, supporting compatibility across a wide range of equipment.
Excellent Dielectric Properties
Offers stable electrical insulation performance, making it suitable for use in certain electronics and test equipment applications.
Low Surface Tension
Improves fluid penetration in narrow geometries and complex components, supporting uniform heat transfer coverage.
APPLICATIONS:
-
Heat Transfer Systems – Used in closed-loop thermal control systems requiring stability and low volatility.
-
Semiconductor Manufacturing – Suitable for thermal management in etching or plasma processes where chemical resistance is essential.
-
Electronic and Electrical Testing – May be used as an inert cooling or dielectric fluid in high-voltage test environments.
-
Aerospace and Defense – Selected for systems where low outgassing, reliability, and temperature stability are important.
PACKAGING:
Solvay GALDEN® HT200 is commonly available in factory-sealed metal containers such as 1 kg, 5 kg, or 10 kg cans. Packaging formats may vary depending on distributor and regulatory requirements.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
-
System Preparation: Ensure that the heat transfer or containment system is free from residual moisture, solvents, or incompatible fluids.
-
Filling and Operation: Fill the system in accordance with equipment guidelines. Avoid prolonged exposure to open air to minimize moisture absorption.
-
Maintenance: Fluid longevity depends on operating temperature and system design. Periodic sampling may be recommended to assess fluid condition.
SAFETY AND HANDLING:
GALDEN® HT200 is considered chemically inert and non-flammable under normal use conditions. However, appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection is recommended during handling. Use in well-ventilated areas. Refer to the product’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for complete safety and disposal information.
